Started in Grissini on 1 September, 2003 is the new Chef de Cuisine, Vittorio Lucariello, arriving from Rex Il Ristorante, Valentino, Primi and Il Cielo restaurant in Beverly Hills
 
Born in Naples, Italy, Chef Vittorio started working the kitchen from the age of 14. He has trained in establishments all around Italy including Il Caminetto di Terracina, the 3-star Michelin restaurant, Don Alfonso on the Amalfi Coast and Chef Gino Angelini at Grand Hotel Des Bains in Adriatic Riviera. Since his secondment to California in 1994, frequent trips back to Italy kept him in touch with emerging trends and development in Italian cuisine. His achievements include appearances at the 41st Grammy celebration, After Oscar Party and the 1999 Beaver Creek International Culinary Classics event.
 
Influenced by his Southern heritage, Chef Vittorio believes that, "cooking is instinctive and emotional. It is also spiritual, the freshness of the produce is so important because I want people to taste all that is good, healthy and pure”.
The key aspect of his cooking style is simplicity, without heavy sauces and the natural robust flavours of the ingredients being the most important.
 
With his Italianate charm and passion for cooking, Chef Vittorio is set to add an exciting new dimension to Grissini and to Hong Kong’s Italian restaurant scene.
